Christianity Explored

What is Christianity Explored?

Christianity Explored is an informal course based on a book in the Bible called the Gospel of Mark. It is an informal time for people who’d like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him.

You’re not asked to pray, sing, or read aloud, and you can ask any question you like. Or, if you prefer, you can come along and simply listen.

Each evening will start with a meal. This is an opportunity to get to know the people in the group, make new friends and have a laugh. Following the meal there is a short DVD on the topic of the evening. Then it’s coffee and small group discussions. In your group you then have the opportunity to share opinions and thoughts on the presentation and ask any questions you might have.

Duncan Road Church are planning to run another Christianity Explored course, the dates for the next course are below:

  • Session 1: Introduction: Good News: What are we doing here?
  • Session 2: Identity: Who is Jesus?
  • Session 3: Sin: Why did Jesus come?
  • Session 4: The Cross: Why did Jesus die?
  • Session 5: Resurrection: Why did Jesus rise?
  • Session 6: Grace: How can God accept us?
  • Session 7: Come and die: What does it mean to follow Jesus?
